In a bold move that is sure to capture attention, Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming series ‘The Madison’—featuring renowned actors Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell—has officially set its premiere date for March 14 on Paramount+. Alongside the announcement, the streaming platform has unveiled captivating first-look images from the show. This new family drama, centered around the Clyburn family living in the picturesque Madison River Valley of central Montana, will kick off with a concise six-episode first season.
Remarkably, this episode count marks the smallest order for any series created by Sheridan, whose previous works such as ‘Yellowstone’, ‘Landman’, ‘Tulsa King’, and ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ typically feature ten episodes per season, while ‘Lioness’ and ‘1923’ include eight. However, fans can look forward to a silver lining—a second season is already on the horizon, as per insider reports.
‘The Madison’ is not just a simple family drama; it weaves a love story into its narrative fabric, exploring themes of grief and the intricate connections between people. The series is produced by a talented team, including Paramount Television Studios, David C. Glasser’s 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions.
Back in August, Deadline shared insights from Glasser, who indicated that filming for the second season was set to commence in September at a sprawling 450,000 square-foot production facility in Fort Worth, Texas, funded by a partnership involving him, Sheridan, Paramount, and Perot. It has been confirmed that the second season has since been completed, and there’s speculation about whether it will be released as a continuation of Season 1 or stand alone as its own entity.
Described as Sheridan’s most personal project yet, ‘The Madison’ takes viewers on an emotional journey through Montana and Manhattan, delving deep into familial bonds and the human experience.
Alongside Pfeiffer and Russell, the impressive cast includes Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova, and Matthew Fox.
At the helm of production are executive producers Sheridan, Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Voros, Michael Friedman, as well as both Pfeiffer and Russell themselves, along with Keith Cox.
