Malaysia aims for a record-breaking medal haul of 200+ at the 33rd SEA Games, set to run from December 9 to 20, 2025, in Thailand. More than 1,000 Malaysian athletes are headed to Bangkok and Chonburi to represent the national flag at this multi-sport event, which returns after its 2023 Cambodia-hosted edition.
The target represents a significant improvement over Malaysia’s 2023 performance, when the team placed seventh overall and amassed 175 medals: 34 golds, 45 silvers, and 97 bronzes.
Among the standout competitors are Khiew Hoe Yean, Toh Ee Wei, and Justin Hoh, who are among the big names expected to shine in Bangkok and Chonburi.
