It’s the news no classic rock fan wants to hear: The Eagles, one of the most legendary bands in music history, are gearing up for their final bow. But here's where it gets emotional—co-founding member Don Henley has hinted that 2026 will “probably” mark the end of their extraordinary journey. In a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Henley shared, “I think this year will probably be it. I’ve said things like that before, but I feel like we’re getting toward the end. And that will be fine, too.”

Despite this bittersweet announcement, the band has added two new concerts to their schedule, bringing the total remaining shows to just 11. These final performances, scheduled for April 10 and 11 at the Sphere in Las Vegas, are a testament to the enduring demand for their timeless music. Tickets are available through platforms like Vivid Seats, StubHub, and Seat Geek, offering fans one last chance to experience the magic live.

But here’s where it gets controversial: While many fans are eager to grab their tickets, others are questioning whether this is truly the end. After all, The Eagles have hinted at retirement before, even calling their tour a “Long Goodbye.” Could this be another temporary farewell, or is this really the final curtain call?

Henley, now 78, has expressed a desire to step back from the spotlight and focus on personal pursuits. He’s looking forward to spending more time with his family, including his four children and grandchild, as well as indulging in simpler joys like gardening and traveling without the constraints of a tour schedule. “We see the airports, the hotel rooms, and the venues, but we don’t get out much. I’d like to go back to the places I’ve been and see more of those places before it all disappears,” he reflected.

The Eagles, known for hits like “Hotel California,” “Take It Easy,” and “Desperado,” have left an indelible mark on the music industry. With current members Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, Vince Gill, and Deacon Frey (son of late co-founder Glenn Frey), the band has maintained their legacy for decades. Their 1976 album, “Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975,” recently became the first to achieve quadruple diamond status, solidifying its place as the best-selling album of all time in the U.S.

And this is the part most people miss: In an era where trends come and go, The Eagles’ music has stood the test of time. As Henley aptly put it, “In a culture where everything seems to become more ephemeral by the day, it is gratifying to have been part of something that endures, even for fifty years.”

Here’s a look at their remaining tour dates:

As we prepare to say goodbye to this iconic band, it’s worth asking: What does their retirement mean for the future of classic rock? Will their music continue to inspire new generations, or will it fade into the annals of history?
